Site update June 2024

 I have replaced all the frame grabs for the post on Mutiny 1952. While the colour is still poorly represented and inconsistent in the source print the new donor is a higher resolution than the previous one so there is an improvement in the quality of the images.

New sister site launched.

One other thing to note is I have now launched another sister site to this one;

modeltrainsinthecinema.blogspot.com

It is identical in format to modelshipsinthecinema and modelaircraftinthecinema. It currently has a grand total of 7 movie posts and a small model train movie list index page which is always under construction.

So if you are interested in model railways at all and special effects miniatures in general click on the link and have a look. Comments welcome.

Site update: Deep Waters 1948

 I have recently found a better resolution copy of Deep Waters from 1948 on you tube. The Original post used frame grabs from a very poor quality source as at the time (more than a decade ago) it was a very hard film to find. Recently with the boom in uploads of old movies to Youtube I have come across a number of previously hard to locate films that I have been searching for for a number of years.

I have updated all the frames in the original Deep Waters post with the better quality ones.

Mystery set photographs post from 2016 finally solved.

Long time reader and enthusiast McTodd has come up with the title of the movie from which the mystery film set photographs belong. This was a post from 2016 and you can find it and the answer here.

The miniature pier photographs from the Mystery Photographs No:5 post still remain a mystery.
