This substandard version of the classic story was originally made for television but received a cinema release in some parts of the world. It is notable for having the same cinematographer as the superior Disney version of 1960. The miniature ship is effectively shot with the only credit for special effects being Cliff Culley who was known as a matte painter and optical effects expert.

Kidnapped 1960
This Disney version of the classic Robert Lois Stevenson story features a miniature ship supervised by Peter Ellenshaw who also contributes a number of very classically framed and painterly matte paintings.
The ships in the following frames are all part of a matte painting.
